Adopt Me! trading safety guide: how to avoid pet scams

How to trade pets in Adopt Me! without being scammed: use the trade window, check every offer and never share your password.

Trading is the heart of Adopt Me!, and it is also where most scams happen. The rules below keep you and your pets safe.

Only use the in-game trade window

Every legitimate trade happens in the trade window inside the game. Refuse any deal arranged in chat, on another site or through a link. High-value pets have sold for real money outside Roblox, and that is exactly what scammers are after.

Check the offer before you accept

Read both sides of the trade on screen every time it changes. Scammers swap an item at the last second or rush you. If anything changes, decline and start again.

Do not trust values you cannot verify

Pet values are community estimates that move with updates. Compare several recent trades instead of relying on one number, and be careful with anyone who insists a pet is worth far more than other players say.

Never share account details

No real trade, code or giveaway needs your password. If a site, video or player asks for it, leave. Codes in Adopt Me! are rare and are announced by the developer, so treat any site that promises many codes with suspicion.

If something goes wrong

Report the player in the game and through Roblox support, and change your password if you shared anything. Keep a note of the usernames and what was traded.
