Every Apex Legend belongs to one of five classes. The class tells you the Legend’s job and gives a shared perk.

Assault

Front-line fighters. Bangalore, Fuse, Ash, Mad Maggie and Ballistic. Assault Legends start fights and take space.

Skirmisher

Mobile Legends who get in and out of fights fast: Wraith, Pathfinder, Octane, Horizon and Valkyrie. Great for repositioning the whole team.

Recon

Information Legends who find enemies: Bloodhound, Crypto and Seer. They can scan Survey Beacons to reveal the next ring.

Support

Healers and protectors: Lifeline, Gibraltar, Loba and Newcastle. They can open Support bins for extra supplies.

Controller

Area-denial specialists: Caustic, Wattson and Catalyst. They lock down buildings and hold zones in the endgame.

Building a team

A strong trio usually has a fighter (Assault or Skirmisher), a source of information (Recon) and either a Support or a Controller. A Skirmisher who can move the whole team, like Valkyrie or Horizon, makes rotations much safer.
