DLSS is NVIDIA’s set of AI features for raising frame rates. DLSS 4 arrived with the RTX 50 series.

Super Resolution

The game renders at a lower resolution and DLSS rebuilds a sharp image. Quality mode looks close to native, and Performance mode gives the biggest boost.

Multi Frame Generation

On RTX 50 cards, DLSS 4 can generate up to three extra frames for each rendered one. Frame rates jump, but responsiveness depends on the real frame rate, so it works best when you already have 60 fps or more.

Reflex

NVIDIA Reflex cuts input latency and is switched on automatically with frame generation. Turn it on in competitive games anyway.

Our recommended setup

Use DLSS Quality for single-player games at 1440p or 4K, and add frame generation only if your base frame rate is solid. In competitive shooters, skip frame generation and use Reflex.
