Getting the most from a PS5 Pro takes a few minutes of setup.
Check your TV
Use an HDMI 2.1 port on your TV if it has one, and enable the TV’s game mode to reduce input lag. 120 Hz output needs HDMI 2.1.
System settings
- Set video output to automatic and enable VRR if your TV supports it.
- Run the HDR calibration in the settings menu.
Performance or quality?
Many games offer modes. On the Pro, performance modes often reach close to quality-mode sharpness thanks to PSSR, so 60 fps modes are usually the best choice. Use quality or fidelity modes in slow, cinematic games where frame rate matters less.
Look for PS5 Pro Enhanced
Games with the PS5 Pro Enhanced label have specific improvements for the Pro. Other games still benefit from Boost mode and better upscaling.
