ASUS and Xbox sell two versions of the ROG Xbox Ally.

ROG Xbox Ally

The cheaper model, with an AMD Ryzen Z2 A chip and 16 GB of RAM. It is designed for lighter games, indie titles and cloud gaming, and has good battery life for its class.

ROG Xbox Ally X

The premium model, with the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, 24 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. It handles modern PC games at much higher settings and has impulse triggers.

What both share

A 7 inch 1080p 120 Hz screen, Xbox-style grips and the Xbox full screen experience on Windows 11, which boots straight into a controller-friendly interface.

Which to choose

If you want to play new AAA PC games on the go, get the Ally X. If you mostly play older games, indies or Game Pass cloud titles, the standard Ally saves a lot of money.
