The Xbox fridge: from meme to real product

When Microsoft revealed the Xbox Series X in 2019, fans joked that the tall black box looked like a mini fridge. Microsoft leaned in. First it built a full-size Xbox Series X fridge as a one-off promotional prize in 2021, a working refrigerator shaped like the console, with green lighting inside. Then, after the joke went viral, it released a real product.

Xbox Series X Mini Fridge

  • Released: December 2021, made with partner Ukonic.
  • Price: $99.99.
  • Capacity: about 12 cans, with two door shelves.
  • Design: looks like the Series X, including a glowing green top vent and an Xbox logo on the door.
  • Power: runs from a wall plug or a car-style 12V adapter, and uses thermoelectric cooling, so it chills drinks rather than freezing.

The Xbox Series X mini fridge sold out repeatedly in its first months and has returned in restocks since. It cools to around 15 to 20 degrees below room temperature, so it is great for drinks next to your setup, but not a replacement for a kitchen fridge. If you search “Xbox Series X fridge” today, you will mostly find this mini version and resold units of the original run.

Xbox Crocs: the controller clog

The Xbox Crocs are the Xbox Classic Clog, a Crocs collaboration that turns the shoe into a wearable Xbox controller.

  • Launch: November 20, 2025 internationally, November 25, 2025 in the US, on Crocs.com and at retailers such as DICK’S.
  • Price: $80, with a $20 five-pack of Jibbitz charms based on Halo, Doom, Fallout, World of Warcraft and Sea of Thieves.
  • Design: black clog with green accents and molded controller parts on the front: two thumbsticks, a D-pad, A, B, X and Y buttons, the Xbox button, plus Menu, View and Share.
  • Fun details: the Xbox logo on the heel strap, and footbeds marked Player Left and Player Right.

People searching for “Xbox Crocs controller” are looking for exactly this shoe. It is a limited edition, so sizes sell out quickly; check Crocs.com for restocks, and be careful with resale listings.

Gucci Xbox: the $10,000 console

In 2021, to mark Gucci’s 100th anniversary and Xbox’s 20th, the fashion house released a Gucci x Xbox Series X bundle. Only 100 were made, priced at $10,000 each. The console was engraved with Gucci’s GG monogram pattern, came with two custom controllers in Gucci colors and a hard-sided carrying case designed like luxury luggage. It was a collectible statement piece rather than a better console; the hardware inside was a standard Series X.

The Xbox Bowl

The Xbox Bowl is a real college football bowl game, not a piece of kitchenware. Announced on December 4, 2025 as the replacement for the Bahamas Bowl, it is owned by ESPN Events and played at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The first game, on December 18, 2025, saw Arkansas State beat Missouri State 34-28, with Master Chief presenting the trophy. The bowl has tie-ins with Conference USA and the Sun Belt Conference and is expected to return each December.

Reebok PlayStation shoes

For the PlayStation 30th anniversary, Reebok released three PlayStation sneakers in October 2025, one for each region where the original PlayStation launched:

  • Japan: InstaPump Fury 94, with a pump ball reading Press Play and a tongue styled like a PS1 memory card.
  • United States: Pump Omni Zone II, in console grey with lace tips shaped like the controller’s action buttons.
  • United Kingdom: Workout Plus, sold through END., with lace charms shaped like the circle, triangle and square symbols.

Each pair uses the grey of the original console, the classic four-color PlayStation logo, and a shoebox designed to look like the PS1. Releases were limited and region-specific, so the Reebok PlayStation shoes now trade mainly on resale sites.

Secret Lair x PlayStation

Wizards of the Coast launched the Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair x PlayStation Superdrop on October 27, 2025. It included seven Secret Lair drops featuring The Last of Us Part I and Part II, Uncharted, God of War (Greek and Norse eras), Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima. Each pack turned characters, locations and items into Magic cards with original art, such as Joel and Ellie, Nathan Drake, Kratos and Atreus, Aloy and Jin Sakai. Foil and non-foil versions were sold in limited quantities on MagicSecretLair.com, with retail boxes appearing later in some markets.

Where to buy official PlayStation gear and Xbox merch

PlayStation gear

PlayStation Gear is Sony’s official merchandise store (gear.playstation.com). It sells clothing, hats, posters, collectibles and game-themed items from franchises like God of War, The Last of Us and Astro Bot. Sony also runs limited drops for anniversaries and big game launches. For hardware and controllers, use PlayStation Direct instead; see our PlayStation Direct and deals guide.

Xbox Gear Shop

The Xbox Gear Shop sells official hoodies, T-shirts, hats and anniversary items, including pieces made for the Xbox 25th anniversary. Limited collaborations like the Crocs clog are sold by the partner brand instead. For the anniversary console and controller, see the Xbox 25th anniversary collection.

How to avoid fake merchandise

  • Buy from the official stores, the partner brand’s site, or large retailers.
  • Check that logos look right; our logo history guide shows the correct designs.
  • Be wary of very low prices for sold-out limited editions such as the Gucci Xbox or Reebok PlayStation sneakers.
  • Use payment methods with buyer protection on resale sites.

Are gaming collabs worth collecting?

Some collaborations hold or grow their value and some fade quickly. The pattern is simple. Items made in very small, numbered runs, like the Gucci Xbox, become collectibles. Items tied to an anniversary, like the Reebok PlayStation sneakers or the Xbox X25 console, tend to stay in demand with fans of that era. Mass-produced novelty items, like the mini fridge, keep their fun value but rarely become investments, because they are restocked. If you buy to collect, keep the original packaging, receipts and any certificates, and store items away from sunlight. If you buy to use, ignore resale prices and wait for restocks, which usually come back at the original price.
