What is a battle royale game?

A battle royale is a last-player-standing shooter: a large group drops onto one map, loots gear, and fights while a shrinking safe zone forces everyone together.

Every match starts from zero. Nobody keeps weapons between rounds, so skill, map knowledge and decisions about when to fight matter more than grinding. Matches usually last 15 to 30 minutes, and most games now run in seasons with a battle pass, new map changes and limited-time modes.
