Every patient in Animal Hospital needs three checks before you let them in. Anomalies are designed to pass one or two of them, so skipping a check is how runs fall apart.
Check 1: look at them
Appearance anomalies give themselves away at the window:
- Three Eyes: a glowing third eye.
- Hollow Face: empty eye sockets and a wide-open mouth.
- Twitching: jerking limbs or a rolling neck.
- Wide Eyes and Creepy Smile, or Human Teeth.
Check 2: compare the photo
Take the patient’s photo and wait for it to develop. Reject the patient if the eyes or ears differ, the photo shows a different animal, the face is distorted, or there is static over the picture.
Check 3: watch the CCTV
Some anomalies look perfect in person. On camera you might see one staring straight into the lens (do not keep watching, as it drains Sanity), a fully black body, or a black bar over the eyes.
Special cases
The Head Banger smashes its head against the glass. Give it coffee rather than walking up to it, which can cost 20 Sanity. Anything you let in by mistake can become a Skinwalker, so when in doubt, close the shutter.
