What each cheat is good for
Invincibility
PC code PAINKILLER. Use it when you want to explore without worrying about taking damage. It keeps your character from being hurt, which makes it handy for sightseeing and for testing risky ideas.
Max Health and Armor
PC code TURTLE. Restores your health and armor to the maximum. It is a quick reset when a fight has gone badly.
Give Weapons
PC code TOOLUP. Gives you weapons so you can skip the shops and start a mission or a free-roam session fully equipped.
Give Parachute
PC code SKYDIVE. Gives you a parachute. It is useful for jumping from tall buildings and for any plan that involves a long fall.
Super Jump
PC code HOPTOIT. Lets you jump much higher than normal. Good for reaching rooftops and exploring parts of the map that are awkward to climb to.
Moon Gravity
PC code FLOATER. Lowers gravity so you float. It is mainly a fun way to see the city from a different angle.
Fast Run
PC code CATCHME. Makes you run faster, which helps when you want to cross the map quickly on foot.
Lower Wanted Level
PC code LAWYERUP. Lowers your wanted level. It is the cheapest way out of a chase that has gone too far.
Change Weather
PC code MAKEITRAIN. Changes the weather. Useful for screenshots and for seeing how the city looks in different conditions.
Slow Motion Aim (enter 3 times)
PC code DEADEYE. Slows time while you aim. In our data it is entered three times, so do not give up after the first attempt.

Which cheats should you be careful with?
Some cheats change the game in ways that are hard to undo during a session. Anything that raises your wanted level, drops you from the sky or alters how your character behaves is easy to regret, so try those only after making a manual save. Our guide to using cheats safely explains the habits that keep a cheat session from going wrong.
How do the cheats interact with saving and achievements?
According to the Rockstar support article, saving is allowed with cheat codes enabled, but achievements are temporarily disabled. Reloading a save or rebooting resets all cheats. If you care about trophies or achievements, play without cheats in one save and use a different save for experimenting.
How do you enter these cheats?
On PC, press the tilde key (~) in story mode, type the code and press Enter. On PlayStation and Xbox, enter the button sequence during gameplay without pausing. See the PC cheat guide and the PlayStation and Xbox guide for the full steps, or use the cheat code finder to search by name.
Which cheat for which goal?
- Exploring the map: Invincibility (PAINKILLER), Super Jump (HOPTOIT), Moon Gravity (FLOATER) and Fast Run (CATCHME) make it easier to get around and reach places on foot.
- Surviving a fight: Max Health and Armor (TURTLE), Give Weapons (TOOLUP) and Slow Motion Aim (DEADEYE) help when things go badly.
- Getting out of trouble: Lower Wanted Level (LAWYERUP) is the quickest escape from a police chase.
- Safe falls and rooftops: Give Parachute (SKYDIVE) pairs well with Super Jump.
- Screenshots and atmosphere: Change Weather (MAKEITRAIN) lets you see the city in different conditions.
Can you combine cheats?
You can use several cheats in one session, but try them one at a time first so you know what each one does. If something behaves strangely after a few cheats, reload your save to reset them all, which Rockstar says returns the game to its previous state.
