To follow someone on Roblox, open their profile and select the Follow option, or send a friend request if you want a two-way connection; following lets you see when they are online and join their games if their privacy settings allow. Roblox treats friends and followers differently, and each has its own controls.

How can I control who follows or joins me?

Is following strangers safe?

What can followers see on Roblox?
Followers can usually see whether you are online and what you are playing, depending on your privacy choices. They may be able to join your game if you allow it. They cannot read private messages or view anything you have not made public. Because visibility is configurable, it is worth spending two minutes in the Privacy settings so the defaults match what you want.

Do followers get notifications about me?
Roblox may notify people when you follow them or when a followed friend comes online, depending on notification settings in the app. You can reduce alerts in the notification section of Settings. If you follow many people, turning off some alerts avoids a flood of pings and helps you focus on the games you actually want to play.
Can I follow someone who is offline?
Yes. Following does not require the person to be online. Their profile remains available unless they block you or restrict followers. When they next come online, you may see their status if their privacy settings allow it.
What should parents tell children about followers?
Explain that a follower is not the same as a friend and that popularity numbers do not equal trust. Encourage children to say no to unknown requests, to avoid sharing real names or locations and to show a parent anything that feels odd.
