To join a group on Roblox, sign in, search for the group or open its page, read the description and select Join Group or Join Community. Open groups let you in at once, while others ask an owner to approve your request, and a few charge a Robux fee. Roblox now often calls groups communities, but the steps are the same.
Key facts at a glance
- Groups are called communities in some Roblox menus, and you find them through search or the Communities page.
- Joining is free for most groups, but a group can set a Robux entry fee or require approval.
- You can belong to many groups, though Roblox applies a limit that guides report as 100 and that can change.
- One group can be set as your primary group so it appears on your profile.
- You can leave a group at any time from its page.
How do I join a group on Roblox?
- Sign in to Roblox on the website or app.
- Use the search bar and switch to groups or communities, or open the Communities page from the menu.
- Open the group page and read the description, rules and member count.
- Select Join Group or Join Community.
- If the group needs approval, wait for an owner or officer to accept your request.
How do I join a group on mobile?
In the Roblox app, tap the search icon, search for the group name or open the Communities tab from the More menu, then open the group and tap Join. The layout can differ slightly between iPhone, Android and tablet, but the join button is always on the group’s main page. If you cannot see it, update the app.
Why can’t I join a Roblox group?
- The group is closed, invite-only or requires you to send a request that has not been approved.
- You were removed or banned from the group earlier.
- You reached the maximum number of groups you can belong to, so leave one first.
- There is a Robux fee that your account cannot pay.
- Your account’s age, safety or privacy settings limit group access.
What can I do inside a group?
Groups can run chat, host events, share announcements, sell items and organize teams for experiences. Group games may give members special perks, and group owners can earn Robux from group-made items. Roles decide what you can do, so a new member usually has limited permissions.
How do I pick a good group?
Check how active the group is, whether the rules are clear, and whether the description matches what the members actually do. Be careful with groups that ask members to pay Robux to join, to share personal details or to leave Roblox for another app. A trustworthy group will have visible moderators, recent posts and a reasonable member count for its topic.
How do I leave a group?
Open the group page, choose the options menu and select Leave Group. If the group was your primary group, choose another primary group from your profile settings afterward. You may need to wait if the owner has delayed role changes.
Key terms explained
- Group or community: A shared page where players organize around a game, team or interest.
- Primary group: The one group featured on your profile.
- Role: A rank inside a group that decides what each member can do.
What is the difference between a Roblox group and a community?
Roblox has been moving toward the word community for these shared pages, while players and many older guides still say group. The feature is the same: a page with members, roles, a wall or chat, and a set of games or items linked to it. If a menu says Communities and a guide says Groups, you are looking at the same thing, and the join steps do not change.
How do I get approved faster?
Read the rules before you apply, because many owners reject requests from accounts that look empty or inactive. Make sure your profile has a clear display name, an avatar and a short description. If the group asks a join question, answer it honestly and in full sentences. Avoid messaging the owner repeatedly, since that rarely speeds things up and can get you blocked from the group.
How do I report a bad group?
Open the group page, use the report option and choose the reason that best matches what you saw, such as inappropriate content, scams or harassment. Roblox reviews these reports and can remove a group or penalize its owner. You can also leave the group and block individual members who keep contacting you.
Can parents control group access?
Yes. Parental controls and age-based settings can limit who a child can communicate with and which communities they can see. If you manage a younger player’s account, review the settings together, look at the groups they have joined, and talk about what to do if someone in a group asks for personal information or tries to move the chat to another app.
