The Stunt Plane is the small, agile biplane-style aircraft of Grand Theft Auto V, a nimble flier built for loops, rolls and low passes over the Pacific. Spawned with the BARNSTORM cheat in story mode, it is the easiest plane for beginners to enjoy, forgiving to fly and quick to take off from short runways or even fields. Stunt Plane cheat code

In story mode, the Stunt Plane cheat spawns an aircraft in front of you. Use it on a runway, a long straight road or open flat ground so the plane has space to take off.

Enter the sequence on consoles during gameplay without pausing, type it in the PC console after pressing tilde, or dial the number on the in-game phone. Cheats work only in story mode and disable trophies and achievements until you reload a save. More codes: GTA 5 vehicle cheats.

Flight handling

The Stunt Plane is light and responsive. It climbs quickly, banks sharply and recovers from stalls more easily than larger planes. Takeoff requires about a short stretch of runway, so you can launch from the beach, a road or the Los Santos International Airport runway. Landing is gentle if you approach slowly with the nose slightly up. Because it has no weapons and little armor, avoid military areas and keep away from heavy fire.

Basic stunt moves

• Barrel roll: bank left or right fully while holding the nose slightly up.
• Loop: pull back on the stick while keeping the throttle high, then release at the top.
• Inverted flight: roll over and push the nose down slightly to stay level while upside down.
• Knife edge: bank 90 degrees and use the rudder to hold the nose up.
• Low pass: fly low over water or an empty runway for speed and thrill.

Flight school and flying skill

Flight school at Los Santos International teaches you take-off, landing, inverted flying, flying low, parachuting and more. Completing lessons raises your flying skill, which makes planes and helicopters handle better. Gold medals on each lesson unlock rewards and bonuses. Where to fly

• Along the coast: follow the Great Ocean Highway north from Los Santos to Paleto Bay for scenic views.
• Through the Vinewood sign area: fly low for photos with the sign in the background.
• Over the Alamo Sea: calm water and open space for stunts.
• Mount Chiliad: circle the summit and dive down the slopes.
• Over Los Santos: watch for skyscrapers and the FIB building.

Landing tips

• Reduce throttle as you approach and keep the nose slightly raised.
• Lower speed under 100 mph before touching down.
• Land on runways or wide flat roads; avoid hills.
• If you are over water, land on a nearby beach.
• Use brakes gently after touching down to avoid flipping.

Safety

Do not fly near Fort Zancudo or other military zones: the base fires on aircraft and gives you a wanted level. See Fort Zancudo. Watch out for power lines and tall buildings during low passes. If your plane catches fire, bail out with a parachute: press the exit button and then deploy the chute.

Stunt Plane formation and trick shots

For screenshots and Rockstar Editor clips, try flying in formation with other aircraft by spawning two planes and having a friend, or an AI pilot, follow you. The Stunt Plane’s tight turning circle makes it good for corkscrews around the Vinewood sign, tunnels through the Los Santos canals, and passes under bridges. A classic challenge is to fly through the large drain pipes along the Los Santos River, or under the Del Perro Pier. These are risky, so save before you try.

Stunt Plane in missions and events

Light planes appear in several story missions and random events, such as air races and plane chases. Practicing with the cheat helps you prepare for these. Trevor has special air missions in his storyline that use small aircraft, and his high flying skill makes them easier. If you struggle with a flying mission, spawn a Stunt Plane first to practice the route.

Plane damage and ejecting

The Stunt Plane catches fire quickly if its engine takes damage, so bail out if smoke gets heavy. Press the exit button in the air to jump out; your character will free-fall and you can open the parachute afterward. In story mode you can also use the SKYDIVE cheat to get a parachute at any time. Landing in water slows you, but jumping from too high over rocks can kill you, so aim for open water or flat ground.

Fuel, repairs and storage

Planes in GTA 5 do not use fuel, so you can fly as long as you like. To keep your plane, land it at a hangar or airfield property you own, since a spawned plane disappears when it is far from you for a long time. If it is destroyed, you can sometimes get a replacement from the insurance system for owned vehicles, but a cheat-spawned plane is not insured.

Why beginners love the Stunt Plane

It is the plane to learn on. Unlike jets, it does not rush toward the ground if you pull up too sharply, and unlike large cargo planes, it responds quickly to your controls. Many players say the Stunt Plane is where flying clicks, and from there they move on to helicopters, jets and the more advanced aircraft added in GTA Online.
