How many days until GTA 6 comes out?
As of October 28, 2026, GTA 6 is 22 days away. Rockstar usually unlocks its games at midnight local time on digital stores, so players in New Zealand and Australia start first and players in the Americas start last.
Is GTA 6 delayed again?
No. As of late October 2026 the November 19 date stands, pre-orders are live and Rockstar has published the pre-load date, which are all strong signs the game will launch on time. GTA 6 has been delayed twice so far:

So how many times has GTA 6 been delayed? Twice. When Rockstar announced the second delay it said the extra months would let the team “finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve”. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said he was highly confident in the new date.
Is GTA 6 cancelled?
No. GTA 6 is not cancelled. Rumors of cancellation spread after each delay and after Rockstar fired more than 30 UK employees in late 2025 for leaking confidential information, but Rockstar and Take-Two have kept the game on track, opened pre-orders and confirmed the release date. Will GTA 6 be on Xbox Series S?
Yes. GTA 6 on Xbox is confirmed for both Series X and Series S. Rockstar has not detailed the Series S resolution and frame rate, but like every Xbox Series game it must run on the smaller console, likely at a lower resolution than Series X. Will GTA 6 be on PS4?
No. GTA 6 is a current-generation game for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. It will not be released on PS4 or Xbox One, which lack the CPU power, memory and fast SSD storage the game is built around. Will GTA 6 be on Switch 2?
Not announced. Rockstar has only confirmed PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch 2 is more powerful than the original Switch, and Rockstar has released older games on Nintendo hardware before, but a GTA 6 port would be a major technical project and there is no official word. Treat Switch 2 rumors as speculation.
When will GTA 6 be on PC?
Rockstar has not announced a PC version or date. Its history suggests PC comes later: GTA 5 reached PC about 19 months after the console launch, and Red Dead Redemption 2 about a year later. Most analysts expect GTA 6 on PC in 2027 or 2028. When will GTA 6 come out on PC? We will update this page the moment Rockstar confirms it. How to pre-order GTA 6
Can you pre-order GTA 6? Yes. Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Store and major retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and GameStop.
- Open the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store and search Grand Theft Auto VI.
- Choose the Standard Edition ($79.99) or the Ultimate Edition ($99.99).
- Complete the purchase; the game appears in your library ready for pre-load on November 12.

Will GTA 6 have a disc?
Not in the traditional sense. Reports on the retail editions say the physical boxed version contains a download code rather than a game disc, so every copy needs to be downloaded. That means even disc-drive consoles need plenty of free storage and a good internet connection on launch day. If you have a slow connection, buy digitally and pre-load from November 12.
GTA 6 on Xbox: Game Pass?
GTA 6 will not be on Xbox Game Pass at launch. It is a full-price release on both consoles. Rockstar has occasionally added older games to subscriptions years later (GTA 5 has been on Game Pass several times), but there is no sign of that for GTA 6.
