What season is Fortnite on?

Are there Fortnite codes?
Fortnite has no redeem codes for free V-Bucks. Creator islands use twelve-digit island codes that you enter on the Discover screen, and creators sometimes add reward codes that only work on their own island.
What platforms is Fortnite on?
PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and mobile.
Fortnite is Epic Games’ free-to-play online game. It launched as a battle royale on September 26, 2017, runs on Unreal Engine 5 and is available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and mobile. It has since grown into a platform with several official modes, a large creator ecosystem and regular crossovers.
Chapters and seasons
Epic had launched 42 Battle Royale seasons as of October 23, 2026, counting four mini-seasons, from Chapter 1 Season 1 to Chapter 7 Season 4. Chapter 7 began on November 29, 2025. Season 4, called Override, started on August 20, 2026 and was scheduled to end on November 1, 2026, the last day of Fortnitemares 2026. Epic had not announced Chapter 8 as of late October 2026, so dates you may see for it come from leaks, not from Epic.
Modes
Battle Royale is the original mode. Fortnite OG launched on December 6, 2024 as a permanent mode that replays Chapter 1 season by season on shorter timers. LEGO Fortnite and Festival are separate experiences inside the same game, and modes such as Reload and Blitz run without seasons. Creators build their own islands with Fortnite Creative and the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), and players can load them from the Discover screen.
Island codes
Fortnite has no redeem codes in the usual sense. Creator islands use island codes: twelve digits in groups of four, for example 7113-0641-3989, which you type into the Discover screen. Island creators sometimes add their own in-map reward codes, which only work on that island. Never trust a site that offers free V-Bucks or asks for your Epic Games login.
Updates
Epic ships updates every few weeks and has published a public roadmap of update dates through 2026. New seasons bring a Battle Pass, map changes and collaborations, so check the in-game news before a new season starts. Our Fortnite guides explain how seasons and chapters fit together.
