Minecraft ID list

Search block, item and mob IDs and copy the exact name to use in /give, /fill, /setblock and /summon.

Works in:Java EditionBedrock EditionBuilt for Java 26.x and Bedrock 26.x

How the minecraft id list works

Type part of a name or an ID, choose Blocks, Items or Mobs and entities, and copy the ID with one click. The list covers the blocks, items and entities people use most in /give, /summon, /fill and /setblock, and it shows the name as it appears in game next to the ID the command needs.

IDs are lowercase with underscores. In commands you can write them with or without the minecraft: prefix, so diamond_block and minecraft:diamond_block mean the same thing.

Worked example

Search for command to find command_block, chain_command_block and repeating_command_block. Copy repeating_command_block and use it as /give @s repeating_command_block.

Java Edition and Bedrock Edition

IDs are the same on Java and Bedrock for almost everything. A few differ, such as Bedrock using boat for the generic boat, and some technical entities such as block_display and interaction exist only on Java.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the ID of an item in game?

On Java, press F3 + H to turn on advanced tooltips, then hover over an item to see its ID. On both editions the chat suggests IDs as you type a command, so press Tab to accept one.

Do I need the minecraft: prefix?

No. It is optional in almost every command, and the game adds it for you.

Why does a spawn egg ID not work for a mob?

Spawn eggs are named after the mob, like zombie_spawn_egg. To spawn the mob itself, use /summon zombie.

Is this every ID in the game?

It is a working list of common blocks, items and mobs, not every ID. If one is missing, start typing it in the command and use the suggestions the game shows.
